KODAIKANAL
Kodaikanal is South India's best known hill station and
is situated amidst the sylvan settings of the Palani Hills in the Western Ghats.
Kodaikanal, is situated 2100 meters above sea level, in the beautiful
Palani Hills. Kodaikanal is 120 Kms from the bustling city of Madurai and at
least tens and thousands of Kilometres from the mundane.
A charming hill station that retains much of
its pristine beauty and magnificent landscapes provide the ideal settings for
the trigger-happy photographer. The main attraction here
is the star shaped
lake. Boating on the lake is a popular pastime and the 5 km path around it, is a favourite promenade. The popular summer season brings you the various exhibitions
and activities including the Horticultural show and the Regatta. it also has a
fine Golf course. The woods outside Kodaikanal is abundant in birdlife. The
pride of Kodaikanal is the Kurinji flower, which blooms once in 12 years. In
2006 there were Kodaikanal had lot of tourists to view this Kurinji flowers. It is
famous for its fruits which are known for their freshness.

By Air:
The nearest airport is Madurai, 120 km away.
By Train: The nearest railhead is Kodai Road Railway Station, 80 km
away.
By Road: Kodaikanal is linked by road to all major towns. Taxis are
available for hire.

Day 01
Kodaikanal
Arrive
Madurai or Kodai Road by train / flight. On arrival transfer to the Hotel
to relax. Rest of the day is at Leisure.
Day 02 Kodaikanal
Visit the Pillar Rocks overlooking tall rock outcrops 121 meters high. Overnight at
hotel.
Visit Bryants Park – famous for its flowers, hybrids and grafts which is
housed in a glass house, Green Valley view (earlier known as Suicide
Point) Coakers Walk, Silver Cascade Waterfalls, Silent valley. Kodai Lake
is a beautiful lake with 24 hectares and a boat ride provides a beautiful
view.
Day 03
Depart Kodaikanal
After
breakfast you will depart from Kodaikanal and drop at either Madurai or
Kodai Road station for your return departure.
