Chennai - Tirupati Tour

Day 01 Arrive
Chennai
Arrive Chennai - the gateway to southern India, established in 1639 by
the East India Company, is one of the oldest cities of the country. You
will be met by our representative and transferred to the hotel to
relax. In the afternoon proceed for a half day sightseeing of Chennai.
Visit Government Museum, Fort St. George, Fort Museum, St. Mary’s
Church, Santhome Cathedral, Kapaleeswara Temple and drive past Marina
Beach.

02 Day Excursion to Tirupati
Drive to Tirupati to have Darshan of Lord Balaji. Tirupati is a temple
town known for the famous ancient temple of Lord Venkateswara (Lord of
seven hills or Balaji, as he is affectionately known ) on the top of the
860 meters high Tirumala hills. The temple of Lord Venkateswara is not only
believed to be amongst the oldest temples in the country, but also the
richest of them all. Legend has it that Lord Venkateswara borrowed
money from the divine treasurer Kubera for his wedding expenses. He is
still paying back this debt which is why the pilgrims donate generously
to the temple funds.
Day 03 Chennai
Departure
After breakfast drive to Tiruchanoor, also known as the
Alamelumangapuram. The temple of SriPadmavathi Devi, the consort of
Lord Sri Venkateswara is situated here. It is said that visit to
Tirumala will be fruitful only after visiting Padmavathi Devi Temple.
Drive to Chennai
Airport to connect fight to onward destination.

Day 01 Chennai
Arrive
Chennai, the gateway of South India and one of the four largest cities
of India. Check-in at the hotel. In the afternoon proceed for a
half-day sightseeing of Chennai.
Day 02 Chennai /
Mahabalipuram
After
breakfast drive to Mahabalipuram enroute visit Kanchipuram.

KANCHIPURAM,
The Golden city 85 km. west of Chennai, was the capital
of successive Hindu Dynasties. Visit the temples and handloom
weaving.
MAHABALIPURAM,
the only surviving shore temple of India is 64 KM south of Chennai,
popularly known as the
seven Pagodas, is an ancient rock hewn monument, monolithic
temples and figures with carvings and sculptures of the 6thand 7th
century A.D.
Day 03
Mahabalipuram / Pondicherry
Pondicherry town has been divided into two sections Ville Blanche
(White Town) and Ville Noire (Black Town). Ville Blanche has been
planned in the French fashion. Facing the shore is the statue of
Dupleix, behind which is the palace of Dupleix with its
centre monument, a copy of the famous Arc du Triomphe in Paris. West
of the monument are the Palace du Government with the main
buildings, the Government House, the High Court, Secretariat, the
Cathedral of Notre Dame des Anges, the Light House and Public
Library. Visit Shri Aurobindo Ashram and Aurovile.
SHRI AUROBINDO
ASHRAM,
The main ashram
building is on Rue De La Marine and is surrounded
by other buildings
given over to the various educational and cultural activities of the
Aurobindo Society.
AUROVILE,
The
brainchild of The Mother and designed by French Architect Roger
Anger, Aurovile was conceived as an experiment in international
living where men and women could live in peace and progressive
harmony with each other above all creeds.
Day 04
Pondicherry / Vedhanthangal / Chennai
Drive to Chennai enroute visit Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary.
VEDANTHANGAL,
This famous breeding place has in practice been a sanctuary
for over a century and a half. The birds that breed here are the
spoonbill, openbill stock, grey heron, Indian darter, and
cormorant. On arrival transfer to the Airport.
Navagraha
Tour

Day 01 Tanjore
Arrive Tanjore, the Rice bowl of TamilNadu. You will be met and transferred to the hotel
to relax. Later proceed for
visits of Navagraha Temple.
Day 02 Tanjore
After early breakfast proceed for visits of Navagraha Temple.
Day 03 Tanjore
/ Trichy Departure
After breakfast proceed for the sightseeing of Tanjore and then to
Trichy.
TANJORE
The capital of the great Chola Empire of 10th and 11th
centuries. The Big Temple of Brahadeeshwara is a World Heritage
Monument and is a remarkable architectural feat similar to Egyptian
Pyramids. The temple tower rises to a height of 15 mts from a square
base of 29 mts and then tapers off, making a total of 66 mts. Many of
the treasures of Tanjore and the surrounding area are housed in Art
Gallery and Saraswati Mahal Library within the Palace.
TRICHY
Visit the Rock Fort, looming 300 feet over the city on the banks of
the River Cauvery. Climb up its stone steps to the "Hall of a
Hundred Pillar", the Mathrubhutheswar Shrine (dedicated to Lord
Shiva) and finally at the very top of the Rock Fort the Ucchi Pillaiyar
Koil, a Ganesh Temple. The view from the top offers a breathtaking
panorama of the countryside and the city below. Visit the Island of
Srirangam.
Later transfer to the Station to board train to Chennai. On arrival,
transfer to the Airport to connect to onward destination.

Chennai
Arrive Chennai. Visit the National Art Gallery and Museum (closed
on Fridays) which has
a selection of ancient paintings of almost all schools as well
as a section devoted to modern Art, Fort St. George, once a
stronghold of the British, the Fort Museum, St. Mary's Church - the
oldest Anglican Church in India. Drive along the Marina -
the popular promenade and beach are one of the finest in India.
Visit the San Thome Cathedral, supposed to have been erected by
St. Thomas, the Mylapore
Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and proceed for shopping if
interested.
Day 02 Chennai /
Tirupati
Drive to Tirupati to have Darshan of Lord
Balaji.
Day 03 Tirupati
/ Puttaparthy
Drive to Puttaparthy, once a sparsely populated village, it has now shot
to national and international fame due to the presence of Bhagavan Satya
Sai Baba. Foreign and domestic devotees visit Baba seeking spiritual
solace.
Day 04
Puttaparthy / Bangalore
Drive to Bangalore, the garden city and IT park. In the afternoon
proceed for a half-day sightseeing of Bangalore. Visit Lal Bagh The
Botanical Gardens, Fort & Tipu’s Palace, Bull temple, Vidhana Soudha and
Arts & Crafts centre Emporium on MG Road.
Day 05 Bangalore
Departure
Transfer to the Airport / Station to connect to onward destination.
